About Us > Adventures > Africa Africa 9/22/01-10/7/01On October 22, Doug and I headed for vacation in Tanzania, where we enjoyed the best of Africa in a camping safari and climb up the Machame/Western Breach route to Uhuru Peak, high point on Kilimanjaro, at 19,340 feet. It was a tough decision to continue with our travel plans, given the new world order post-9/11/01, but it was the best decision for us at the time and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Of the over 300 photos that we shot while we were there, we've pared it down to 50 of our favorite animal shots from Safari to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. We've also included nearly 40 photos from our climb up Kilimanjaro. Hopefully you'll enjoy taking a peek at some of our favorites.
